WHEATGRASS AND SPIRULINA PILLS


“Do we need to take wheatgrass pills or spirulina pills? These are supposedly not supplements.”

ANSWER: There is very little value in taking powdered grass or powdered algae. First of all, we cannot digest grass very well, even wheatgrass, especially when it's dried and turned into a powder.

There are also problems associated with spirulina. The contain a vitamin B-12 analog that actually can precipitate a deficiency problems. In addition to that, these green powders are not actually that rich in minerals.

When you eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, as well as green smoothies, you will be taking in plenty of vitamins and minerals, much more than what is found in these so-called “super-foods”.
