SALT & WATER
“You state that we should not take salt (sea) and not drink water: Are you writing this for SAD or RAW readers?”
ANSWER: I never said anywhere that one should not drink water. I simply stated that on a raw-food diet it wasn't as necessary to consume as much water as on a Standard American Diet (SAD).
As for salt, I still maintain that sea salt isn't the best choice for our health. Our sodium requirements are very low and can be met by eating green vegetables. A little seaweed occasionally is also okay.
Consuming more sodium than what is necessary can lead to several health problems, including hypertension, osteoporosis and stomach cancer. It also deadens our taste buds so that it is more difficult to enjoy fruits and vegetables without seasonings.
