How to Make Passive Income

What, I Have to Work Now?

I just spoke with one of my friends who has been wanting to start an online business for a long time. After going through the material I gave her, where I laid out the *exact* method for creating your own website from start to finish in as little as two days, she came back to me and said:

“Fred, I’m not sure I want to do this… there’s actually a lot of work and a bunch of writing to do!”

I was stunned because this friend really seemed to be interested in the idea of making a living on the Internet instead of working a 9 to 5 job.

She ended up doing nothing to get closer to her dream because, “there’s some work to do.”

My friend, I know there’s some people out there who want to sell you the idea that you can launch your own business doing basically nothing and “laughing your way to the bank”, but in the real work, you have to work hard to make things happen.

The only one who’s really “laughing his way to the bank” is the person who sold you the course and the false idea that you could start your own business doing nothing.

I’ve always been interested in what people *do* as opposed to what they *say*. If you look at it, everyone selling you these courses on “how to make a living doing nothing” actually are doing the exact opposite:

– The have created their own product
– They are launching it through a well-planned marketing campaign
– They have carefully built a mailing list
– They have put in place all the pieces necessary for them to succeed

They are *not* making a living doing nothing. But their product happens to be on that.

If you want to make a living doing what you love, there’s at least a couple things you’ll need to do:

1- Writing — You can’t escape the fact that most marketing approaches rely on writing. Creating your own website involves a lot of writing. Marketing also involves writing. So if you hate to write, you will still have to find a way to get the writing done.

One of my friends has a successful online business but he hates to write. To overcome that problem, he *records* his articles on audio and has his secretary transcribe them and organize them into an easy-to-read article.

There’s also other things you could do to avoid writing too much… but the best would be to get over the pain and actually learn how to write faster and better.

2- Marketing – Succeeding making a living doing what you love is at least 80% marketing. If you hate marketing and can’t get over that, I don’t see how you could succeed in this business. The secret is to make marketing *fun* and in alignment with your values. You don’t have to copy someone else’s marketing. Just stay *yourself* but understand the basic principles of marketing and apply them at all time.

Right now, I’m working on a little movie that will basically *crush* the popular best-seller and movie “The Secret.”

You see, in the Secret, they wanted you to believe that the secret behind successful people was the “law of attraction.”

That, my friend, is pure BS.

You see, the REAL secret behind success is the law of ACTION, not the law of *attraction*.

Ultimately, it’s your decisions and your actions that determine the course of your life.

In other words, you can visualize it all you want, but if you don’t get off your ass and do something, nothing great will happen to you.

It’s important to have positive thoughts… but if you want great things to happen to you, you have to

– Create a Plan
– Act on it
– And work your butt off!

You don’t need to watch the movie “The Secret” over and over again until you finally “get it”. You just need to take action, and the faster the better.

“But don’t you have to get your thinking right first before you take action!”

Come on! You can control what you DO! By getting into action, it helps change your thinking.

Hey, a big cause of worry and anxiety is not taking action on what you know you should be doing.

Remember, *success likes speed*.

Take action on what’s important to you, and do it as soon as possible.
