What Topic to Choose for Your Website

In my last email I told you about my project to travel around the world next year.

This is not going to be an ordinary trip, as it will take me to magical places such as Sri Lanka, Mauritius, the Seychelles, Australia, the Cook Islands, Tonga, Tahiti, and more.

But best of all, I’ll be able to make this entire trip pay for itself… and then some more!

Do you dream of traveling the world?
Would you like to be able to do something like that? Or maybe you’d just like to have more time for yourself and your family, doing something that you enjoy and that makes a difference.

So how do you get started?

First, it should be clear that everything I’m talking about is 100% online. It would be very difficult to achieve the kind of freedom I’m talking about without the Internet.

So we’ll leave behind such projects as:

–    Opening a health food restaurant
–    Running health “retreats” and events
–    Publishing physical magazines
–    Book publishing for the most part

What we’ll be focusing on will be 100% online. However, even with that setup you’ll still be able to ship physical products such as books or DVDs from anywhere in the world.

I sell many digital products such as eBooks, but also many physical products such as DVDs. Sometimes I never even get to see these products myself.

I don’t need to, because I deal with companies where I outsource almost everything from start to finish, including shipping to customers.

*What Topic to Choose*

Before we get to finding out what products you’ll be selling, you need to decide on a topic for your website.

Most people get stuck at that phase, because they worry about too many things.

If any of the following thoughts are in your mind, you need to get them out right now!

–    There’s already too much competition in that market
–    I don’t have any qualifications to talk about that topic
–    I have limited experience with that topic
–    Too many people are doing it, not enough space for me

There are all kinds of market research available that can be done to help you determine your ideal topic.

But personally I prefer to ask you: what is your passion?

Is there a topic where you find yourself constantly looking for new information?
Is there a topic you could talk about for hours, even if you’re not an expert?
Is there a topic that you are really passionate about?

Competition is not much of an issue. In fact, I would worry more about entering a market where there is NO competition as opposed to one with plenty of established businesses.

You don’t want to be a pioneer in a new market.

Pioneers have arrows in their back. Pioneers struggle. Pioneers die.

Instead, I’d say to go with your passion, and make sure there’s already enough competition and interest in that market, which means that it’s booming and it’s healthy.

For example, my main market is the raw food diet.

A lot of people think that this market is oversaturated, but in my opinion it’s absolutely not! It’s an excellent market because it’s booming and because not many qualified marketers know what they’re doing online!

Maybe I should not be telling you this, but I think it’s an excellent market for beginners.

There are also many other markets. I personally tried a few, such as the “learn foreign languages market”, but raw foods has always been my biggest one.

And the main reason why I’m in that market in the first place is because I’m passionate about it.

So starts with what interests you, with something that you love.

Don’t worry about your qualifications, or the competition. Instead, worry more about the *lack* of competition.

In my next email, I’ll be talking a little bit more about this, and then we’ll go into more details about what exactly you should be selling on your site, to make it work!

If you can’t wait to get started and really want to make a living doing what you love, you should know that we’re about to release the next edition of our course “How to Make a Living in the Natural Health Movement”.

We only do this course once or twice a year, max! The next edition should prove to be our best one so far.

It should be available next week for a new round of 50 students… so stay tuned! Make sure you sign up for the free Do What You Love Tips for the announcement!
