If You Want True Health, Don’t Waste Your Time on This

Let me warn you that what I’m about to write may make some of my readers MAD and cause enough controversy to lose them forever as subscribers.

But today I’m the one who feels MAD and ANGRY at some of the non-sense that is spread in the natural health movement that causes people to stay sick and unhappy.

I see people spending fortunes on seminars, natural remedies, superfoods and a bunch of other nonsense, and never get any better.

And the top-selling books about nutrition and natural health are telling the same useless information that keeps people confused and yet, remain sick.

Even most raw-foodists are not any better, wasting their times and burning their savings on the latest raw food craze, while constantly feeling that their health is going down the drain.

I know because I used to be one of them.

15 years ago, I became a vegetarian. But I discovered shortly after that being a vegetarian was not the end-all solution, so I became a strict raw foodist.

And for almost 4 years, I ate nothing but raw foods. 100%. Not even once did I cheat by eating steamed broccoli or a baked potato.

I stayed with 100% raw because I was convinced that there was not a better diet in the world.

And yet, after all these years, I felt worse than when I had begun. In fact, I experienced many health problems I didn’t have when I started.

And I thought that if I just kept eating raw, I would eventually go through this never ending detox and reach perfect health.

I was in complete denial of the reality that my diet was not working for me!

What went wrong?

When I decided to eat all-raw, I could not see the forest for the tree.

Because of my obsessive attention to one little detail (eating raw), I failed to grasp the larger concept of creating health.

By doing that, I wasted my energy on one aspect of health (eating raw) while committing so many other mistakes that completely negated and even reversed all the benefits I could gain from being a raw-foodist.

While I was doing that, and ever since then, I’ve personally met hundreds upon hundreds of people that did the exact same thing!

The English phrase “can’t see the forest for the tree” means overpaying attention to some details while missing the main picture.

That’s exactly what most people are doing in the natural health and raw food movement.

They waste their time on one tiny aspect of health, and get obsessed about it, while neglecting other, much more important aspects of health that they should be really paying attention to.

Or worse, they spend their time, energy and resources on unproven health practices that really don’t work.

I would not be exaggerating if I said that 90% of natural therapies, remedies, superfoods and natural health products are at best completely useless, and at worst possibly dangerous.

The main advantage of these natural remedies is that they generally (but not always) are less toxic than conventional medicines, and might still give your body a chance to heal.

The healing will then be incorrectly be attributed to the remedy, when it fact it should have only been attributed to the powers of your body.

Now that I’m done getting warmed up, how about giving some specific examples of what I’m talking about?

– I’m talking of course about all the scams and lies of the raw food movement, such as the myth that eating raw foods alone, no matter what kind of raw foods, is a good plan to follow.

– I’m talking about the raw cacao craze, and replacing coffee with just another drug and stimulant just because it’s “truly raw ” .

– I’m talking about people promoting an energy deficient diet, claiming they can live on a few green juices and one or two pieces of fruit a day, because they are so “clean”.

– I’m talking about “breatharianism”, and all those people that claim you can live on air, and encourage others to just give it a try.

– I’m talking about a lot of natural therapies and remedies, that usually do nothing more than camouflage the symptoms, while never addressing the cause. In this category I would include most herbal remedies.

And don’t get me started on homeopathy, as it is one of the biggest scams and hoaxes in the entire history of natural health. But at least, I’ll grant that true homeopathic remedies are not dangerous, since they are diluted to the point of containing no active ingredient at all, and are nothing but glorified placebos.

But when I see poor souls at the health food store spending a fortune on homeopathic remedies, thinking they will actually “do” something, I can’t help it but despise homeopaths not giving their patient advice that could actually help them, and misleading them by prescribing their placebos as “remedies”, while charging a premium for it.

However, I can’t just blame the homeopaths and the naturopaths and the doctors for prescribing remedies (even if they are just placebos). Most people don’t want or are not willing to change. They just want to swallow a pill and hope their problems will be solved.

But I get MAD because I see a lot of people who are desperate for help. They are so sick and actually WANT to get healthy, but waste their time, their energy and their money on things that either don’t work or are hurting them.

Or some people think they found the truth in one thing, for example the raw food diet, and decide to place all of their attention into it, but end up ruining their health or not succeeding because they do it the wrong way.

If you think eating raw foods alone is going to heal you, you are mistaken!

If you think that most raw-foodists are healthy, you are fooling yourself!

The raw-food diet, in itself, is a fad. Cooking food is only a remote possible cause of disease, and eating 100% raw by itself is not enough to make you well.


Because if you keep eating a ton of fat, such as nuts, seeds, avocados and oil, you will affect every aspect of your health negatively.

If you follow the advice of the undereaters and anorexics and try to eat as little as possible, you will have no energy and will experience intense cravings for cooked foods (and all foods for that matter).

If you don’t eat enough fruit, you simply won’t have enough energy and will still have cravings and then binge later on.

And if you follow the raw food diet without a clear plan, you will fail — guaranteed.

My philosophy of health is based on science, but it’s also based on what works. Not just for me, but for others as well.
