“Plan Your Meals in Advance”
Like in everything, planning saves you time and effort. With food, it’s especially important. If you don’t plan your meals in advance, you’ll just end up eating whatever is available in the fridge, or eat food on the go.
But if your fridge is filled with good fruits and vegetables and you actually know what to do with them, you’re on your way to success.
Here’s what I do: on Sunday, I look at some recipes I’d like to prepare during the following week and I make an outline for my breakfast, lunch and dinners for the week.
It doesn’t have to be 100% detailed, but you need a general idea. What are you going to eat on a daily basis?
If you want to eat a green smoothie every morning, what types of fruits and vegetables will you need to buy?
If you want to eat more salads, how could you prepare a big one that would last you 4-5 days, in a big plastic container?
By planning your meals in advance, you don’t fall prey to uncertainty and junk food. You know what to purchase and in what quantities.
