Information Overload? Not the Problem!

People tell me they’re completely overwhelmed by all the raw food information.

People go to a seminar and say: “There was so much information, I don’t know where to start. I need some time to digest it all.”

Others get a wide selection of books from different authors, and then complain that “It’s so confusing. I’m overwhelmed and don’t know what to believe.”

I hear the same thing over and over again:

-       Too much information
-       Information overload
-       Don’t know what to believe, or where to start

It may seem that the problem is too much information. However, that’s not the core issue.

The problem is NOT having too much information, but rather having information that doesn’t fit together.

You get a book from author A, who tells you that the best diet for you is a diet of sprouts, grains, and very little fruit.

Author B tells you to eat lots of fruit, but also take supplement X.

Then you have another author that contradicts them all, and says we should eat raw animal products.

The problem is not too much information! It’s too much contradicting information, and too much unrelated, unnecessary information!

Think of your health as a jigsaw puzzle. One piece of the puzzle may be your diet. Another may be your exercise program. Another may be your quality of life, and so on.

Each insight you get about health is like a new piece of the puzzle, and it all works fine as long as the pieces fit together!

But try mixing together three or five completely different jigsaw puzzles, and then trying to fit them all together in just one complete picture.

It just doesn’t work!

The same happens when you try to mix and mash all different philosophies from different authors who clearly don’t agree with each other on the fundamentals.

I’m not saying that you shouldn’t learn from different people.

What I’m saying is that you should follow a complete program that makes sense. Choose your camp, and learn as much as you can from teachers that give you complete information.

Again, too much information is generally not the problem! When I was first learning about raw food and natural hygiene, I couldn’t get enough! That’s because everything I was reading was from authors with similar points of view. It all fit together perfectly.

Nowadays, too many people with little experience become gurus, and create an incomplete program based on their incomplete experience. Some are not even clear about what to eat, and will tell you to simply “figure out what works for you!”

Yesterday, I released a package called “The Raw Vegan Lifestyle Program”.

http://www.fredericpatenaude.com/enchilada.html

I also call it the “Whole Enchilada Deal” because it includes literally every paid program I have ever published on the subject of raw and living foods, spanning my 12+ years of experience in the field.

If you’re tired of incomplete and conflicting information, check it out and make sure you order it within the next 48 hours to get your $100 discount.

The program is massive.

But it’s not “too much information” because it all fits together in a complete system that takes you from A-to-Z in your raw food lifestyle.

Check it out at:

http://www.fredericpatenaude.com/enchilada.html

Frederic

PS: You have another 48 hours to order at the launch price. If you’ve ordered some of our product in the past (more than one), you may qualify for a special price. Contact us at www.fredericpatenaudesupport.com for information.

The Veggie Stew Revelation

I just had a visit from long-term 100% raw-foodist Roger Haeske and his girlfriend Karmyn here in Costa Rica, where I’m staying with my fiancée.

Roger has recently published a program called the “Savory Veggie Stews”, which I think is going to be the next revolution in the raw food movement after green smoothies.

I’ve been making these Veggie Stews non-stop for almost a year, but this was the first time I got together with Roger since he released his program.

==> http://tinyurl.com/mjq7r4

The great thing about the Savory Veggie Stews is that it’s the only low-fat raw-food dinner that I find completely satisfying (after a good plate of fruit).

Dinnertime is when most people (myself included) crave cooked foods. After eating fruits all day, it’s normal to want something more savory for dinner.

But big salads with lots of fat like avocados or fatty foods is tasty, but it can make you feel tired and is not always satisfying (especially without a good dressing!).

Just fruit for dinner also leaves you hungry for something else. And a green smoothie for dinner is just plain unsatisfying.

But the Savory Veggie Stews are completely different. It’s the best way I found to consume sufficient quantities of greens and vegetables, and actually enjoy it! Green smoothies are also great, but they are not savory, therefore not really enjoyable for dinnertime.

Savory Veggie Stews have no fat and are very tasty at any time of the day!

*What I Was Doing All Wrong*

Anyway, to get back to my story, when we finally got together with Karmyn and Roger, Karmyn made her famous Tex-Mex Veggie Stew. I didn’t really watch what she was doing with the blender, so I had no idea what method she was using to make her recipe.

When she served me a bowl, I was totally blown away. It was so much better than my own Veggie Stew recipe! It was definitely the most enjoyable raw soup I ever ate, a meal that could certainly be called “Energy Soup”, because it left me energized and well-nourished.

Actually, Energy Soup was another soup common in sprout-eating circles, which in many cases was a green sludge that was utterly disgusting and unpalatable to modern taste buds. The Savory Veggie Stew does NOT taste like this!

It was sweet and savory, crunchy, a little spicy and completely satisfying!

Anyway, the next day I made my own Veggie Stew recipe, and was very disappointed that it didn’t taste like Karmyn’s recipe.

If you’ve tried to make your own Veggie Stew and it didn’t turn out right, you were probably making the same mistakes I did.

Karmyn told me my soup tasted like “cake and lettuce”. I admitted having used dates in it, instead of the normal Veggie Stew ingredients.

She asked me “Did you actually watch the video where I showed how to make the Tex-Mex soup?”

I admitted that I didn’t fully watch the videos that Roger had put together in his program. I just went by the basic recipe, but was doing a lot of things wrong without realizing it.

So I went back and watched the most recent video that Roger and Karmyn added to their Veggie Stew program. And this time, I made my own Veggie Stew following their exact recommendations (it only took a few minutes).

I served it to everybody, and they all loved it. So much that Roger was almost licking the Vita-Mix bowl dry to get every last little bit of it, and Karmyn’s 2-year old son, Andrew, was asking me to make more of it!

By the way, I’ve never seen a kid in the world as excited about the idea of eating raw soup…

Since Roger and Karmyn left a few days ago, I’ve been making the Veggie Stews non-stop.

==> http://tinyurl.com/mjq7r4

I assure you that it’s my all-time, favorite dinnertime raw recipe, and takes care of any cooked food cravings you might have.

Plus, it’s the best way to consume greens, and more enjoyable than green smoothies, as far as I’m concerned.

If you’ve tried to make the Veggie Stews and they haven’t turned out right, I suggest you watch the new videos Karmyn and Roger have added to the program. Also, with the Savory Veggie Stew program you get a 15-minute consultation with Roger, in case your recipe doesn’t turn out right and you need help making it.

If you don’t have the Savory Veggie Stew program, I highly recommend that you get it now. It comes with so many bonuses and new recipes — in addition to the basic videos.

Roger is about to permanently increase the price of his program to $67. So get it now while it’s on sale.

Can the iPhone help you succeed on the raw foods diet?

- Can the iPhone Help You Succeed With Your Health Program?

's-Update.jpg

IMG_0702.JPGAfter a three week stay in Calgary, nicknamed "Cowtown", I'm back in my home province of Quebec. I must say, the produce quality we get in Montreal is a lot better than what I could find in Calgary. Maybe I missed something when I was there… but I think I can find more stuff in Quebec.

Last trip at the farmer's market yielded two different varieties of great-tasting mangoes (which are hard to find now), delicious Greek figs (fresh), Italian pears (tasty!), amazingly crisp grapes, and more (as shown on the picture on the right).

It's funny because sometime I speak to people and I tell them that one of the main reasons I decided to move to Costa Rica most of the year, besides the weather, is because of the fruits and vegetables I can find there. Most people can't imagine that I would want to move somewhere because of the food!

Yet, food is a very important part of life, and even more important for a raw-food and fruit aficionado.

I know many people who relocated to places such as the Bay Area ( San Francisco), Hawaii, Miami, Thailand, Australia and other places because it makes it's easier to enjoy their raw-food lifestyle.

Have you ever considered a move somewhere because of the fruits, vegetables and weather you could get there? Have you ever successfully moved somewhere for those reasons? If so, let me know in the comments!

Another thing:

Next week, I'm organizing a FREE Cleanse next week for the fall. Make sure you join us for this event and get back in shape before the holidays! Go to:

PS: Next month I'll be in Costa Rica. In December, I'm organizing a "Day Tour of Costa Rica" for people interested in moving to this tropical paradise, part-time or full-time. This is for students of my course "How to Move to a Tropical Paradise." For more information and to sign up, go to: http://www.fredericpatenaude.com/tropicalparadise.html

CANNOT EAT FRUIT

Dear Mr Patenaude, I just read your book the Raw Secrets, and it makes a lot of sense.. However, the fruit-section is quite hard, because as long as I can remember, I do not like fruit, I get shivers if I even think of them.. (ok, because I got myself in bad health conditions with unfood, diabetes, candida etc) so, is it wise to use only blended salads without the fruits, and maybe start to eat them whenever I feel like I'm ready? Cause I have the feeling if I just start to eat them now, I'll go crazy with itchiness etc.. :) Anyway, thank you for all the information and I cannot wait to get myself better! Cheers x

ANSWER: A transition is certainly possible, however you should be aware that a blended salad without fruit has almost no calories, so it would be impossible to survive on them and you would lose too much weight too quickly and be very hungry all the time. I wouldn’t recommend living on blended salads with fat in them (avocados, nuts, etc.) because that would bring the total percentage of fat in your diet above 70%, which is very unhealthy. The main way to get well is to remove the cause of your health problems. Living on a high-fat diet will certainly not help you and will only make things worse in the long-term. I would much prefer that people go on a simple low-fat vegan diet that includes cooked items such as potatoes and rice (but avoid gluten-based products) and then progressively include more fruit to phase out the grains, rather than going on a high-fat, all-raw diet and from there try to lower the fat content. For health, it’s much more important to eat low-fat than to eat all-raw.

IS COCONUT OIL FAT?

I have a question in regards to your article on sugar with fat, and I would appreciate it if you could be kind enough and answer it as it regards something I eat on a daily basis and if there is a problem with combining, I would like an alternative option. Here it is: Every morning I grind flax seeds and add all kinds of seeds like hemp and chia, sometimes I even add freshly ground sunflower seeds and pumpkin (sprouted of course). I grind some goji berries which is low glycemic sugar and then I add flax oil and coconut oil. Question is whether the oils are considered fats, whether seeds are fats, and whether goji berry fall into the category of sugar since they are really low glycemic. As a matter of fact, when I eat fruit, I usually add seeds. Thank you Frederic, Shoshannah Sarah

ANSWER: I’m glad that you read the article, but for further information you should also read my fruit report at http://TinyWebLink-001.com/?pid=2961304
Flax seeds, hemp, chia, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds — even when sprouted — are still high in fat. Flax oil and coconut oil are definitely fat. In fact, they are 100% fat by calories, just like any other oil. I recommend avoiding the combination of fruit and fat in general (except for small quantities in salads), and limiting the percentage of fat in the diet to less than 10-15%, which will be something like half an avocado a day for most people, maybe more if you’re very active.

CONSUMING VEGGIE STEWS AND GREENS ON THE GO

PLEASE, can you and Roger get your heads together and come up with a plan on how we can consume all these green smoothies, stews, etc. during the day in which we do NOT have access to a Vita Mix! These are not portable drinks and need to be consumed right after making. Not all of us have or can have the type of job the 2 of you have. Also, Dr. Cousin suggest a diet of mostly fruit and Roger claims (and you endorse) a diet of Savory stews with some fruit. Is one more important than the other? Thanks!

ANSWER: It’s very easy to bring green smoothies around. My friend Diana Stoevelaar from Calgary makes 4 large green smoothies a day and she brings them in large “sports bottle” types of container (32 ounces each). If you add some ice or some frozen fruit in them they will keep for several hours. When I travel, I always make smoothies in advance with some ice or frozen fruit and bring them for the day. I also cut up fruit and bring them in plastic containers (Tupperware and the like). Also, keep in mind that the idea is not to consume mostly green drinks or veggie stews and some fruit. You got it wrong. I recommend mostly fruit with a Veggie Stew for dinner for active people, while everyone else can replace some of the fruit meals during the days with green smoothies. Roger eats a LOT of fruit during the day and at night he has several servings of his world-famous craving-busting veggie stews (which I highly recommend and that are still available at: http://tinyurl.com/mjq7r4)

THE RAW HEALTH STARTER KIT

I am wondering if your Raw Health Starter Kit is worth the money because I can't imagine what information there would be which I haven't heard of yet. You're website gives already information about eating less fat and more fruit. But other than that, I can't imagine that there would be new information, which does trigger me to stay 100% raw. I am having problems in staying raw and I am really desperate to find success. But I can't imagine how it would be possible. Can you give me a reason why I should buy the starter kit instead of books like 'conscious eating' and 'raw beauty'?

ANSWER: If you are desperate to finding success, then I assure you that the Raw Health Starter Kit will fill in the blanks. Very few raw books contain any recipes or real life solutions.  Too much of the information is confusing, contraidictory and have opinions that are often unfounded and go against common sense. Why waste any more time sifting through the endless information out there when I can share with you my 12 years of experience in living this diet and show you how you can achieve the same results by avoiding my mistakes? Check it out below:

Can the iPhone Help You Succeed With Your Health Program?

screenshot_2.pngIf you use an iPhone or iPod Touch or were thinking about getting one, you will love this article. I’m going to share with you how to use the iPhone to improve your health and fitness on the go, with my favorite “raw” programs.

I admit that I’m a bit of a geek. I love my iPhone. I use it not only to listen to music, make calls, track my expenses, and take pictures, but I also have found a ton of useful programs that help me succeed on the raw food diet.

Since Apple has sold over 50 million iPhones and iPod Touches I think I must not be the only geek out there.

Although the apps I will describe are great, I think there’s room for more innovation for the raw food community on this mobile platform. For example, what about a program that would automatically send you raw food tips every day? Or what about a database of raw food recipes you can easily search and view on the go?

I’ve entertained the idea of developing some programs for the iPhone (and iPod Touch), but only if there’s enough demand to justify it. So be sure to let me know in your comments if you think this is a good idea.

All of the programs below are available in the iTunes App Store.

Absolute Fitness — $14.95 —  This is a great tool to replace “Fitday” and other similar nutritional databases to keep track of your calories, your fat intake, and your fitness activities.

The program includes a searchable database of foods, including most fruits and vegetables. If necessary, you can create custom foods.

You enter your foods eaten and it will automatically create stats for you. You can watch your fat consumption day by day or on average, and set your own limits for each nutrient.

The only missing feature is the ability to view the percentage of calories coming from fat, protein and carbs. But at least you have the amount of fat consumed daily, which can give you a good idea. I hope that the developers will improve this and add the caloronutritient ratio in future versions.

You can also track your fitness activities and see how many calories you’re burning daily. All in all, a great tool.

 IMG_0159.PNG

IMG_0161.PNG

iHeartRate — $0.99 — Are you curious what your resting heart rate, or how fast you recover from a workout? Although you can take your pulse over 15 and 30 seconds and then multiply it, I’ve always found that method a bit complicated, leading to several trials to get a good number. With the iHeartRate app, you simply take your pulse and tap along with the other hand on the screen. After 10 taps the app automatically calculates your heart rate, and it’s pretty accurate! For 99 cents, it’s also a good deal.

IMG_0162.PNG

Fitness Builder — $19.95 — This is the ultimate mobile fitness app! It’s more expensive than the more popular iFitness, but light years beyond. Look no further. This program features hundreds of workouts you can use in any circumstances, stat calculators, and the ability to track your workouts overtime.

You can also search workouts by locations and goal. For example, say you’re at a hotel and you want to do some cardio or body-building. Just put those preferences and the program automatically finds the best workouts for you.

When you’re working out, you have nice picture of each exercise, and you can stream videos if necessary. You even have a timer to calculate your rest time between reps. You can also track your results and can easily see how much you lifted last time for the same exercise. Of course, you can listen to your music while you’re working out as well.

IMG_0168.PNG IMG_0166.PNG

YogaStretch — $1.99 — This is a nifty little app to have your own yoga instructor on the go. Simply select the duration of your desired workout (up to 60 minutes), and launch the program. An attractive female voice leads you through your yoga session, while on the screen you can see illustrations of each pause and time left.

IMG_0171.PNG

Bento — $4.99 — Bento is a program made by File Maker to create various kinds of databases. An obvious use for us is the recipe database. I’ve started inventorying all of the new raw recipes that I’m creating. You can even take a picture on the go of your new creation. The best way to use this program is to also own the desktop version ($49.95) and use the iPhone as a synchronized version and an “on-the-go” recipe database.

IMG_0172.PNG

Finally, why not load on your iPhone or iPod Touch my new Low Fat Raw Vegan DVD Series? It’s simple. Simply use a program like Roxio Crunch to rip my DVDs, so you can take curly-haired Frederic with you and watch your favorite recipe demos on the go!

How I Beat My Salt and Dinnertime Cooked Cravings

Do you find it easy to eat raw during the daytime, but find that when dinner comes, you're tired of just eating fruit and you're craving something more substantial and savory?

If you do, you're not alone!

Dinnertime is a very difficult part of the day to stay raw.

I used to have this problem for years.

Breakfast was easy, I just had my favorite smoothie or fresh fruit.
Lunch was also easy, once I learned how to eat enough bananas and fruit to sustain myself for the day.

But dinner has always been hard, until recently (keep reading to discover how I beat those cravings using a special recipe).

First of all, I've never really liked salads without salt or vinegar.

Sure, you can make a dressing of mango and tomato, but it quickly gets boring after a while.

Starting the dinner with fruit helps… but after the fruit I was always craving something more. I missed the savory flavors I used to enjoy every day.

When I tried to make a big salad with avocado (or other types of fat) spices, salt and seasonings… I was satisfied, but I also felt bad the next day, with low energy due to the excess fat, and thirst due to the salt.

Plus… that satisfaction only lasted an hour or so, and soon after I was craving something else.

So for a long time my best compromise was to eat some cooked vegetables and starches, instead of the high fat dinner, but it still wasn't optimal.

Once I started experimenting with having more fruit at dinner, my body was satisfied… but I was still deeply missing that savory taste, and the spinach salad just didn't do it for me.

Then one day, my friend Roger Haeske told me about a recipe he'd been making for years. He called it the Savory Veggie Stew, a type of blended salad.

He told me that he loved this recipe so much that he had it every night, and had become an expert at making them over the years, after making thousands of them.

He has literally refined the recipe into a formula that he claimed eliminated his salt and cooked food cravings forever.

I was quite skeptical, because I knew how to make a blended salad, and I also knew it's not the type of recipe I would make every night.

When I told him about my blended salad recipe and the fact that I put avocado, he almost laughed and told me that his Savory Veggie Stew was completely different. He didn't add any fat in it at all.

I was still skeptical, but I decided to give it a try.

He told me how to make the recipe, and even though I thought it was a lot of food to blend at once (after all it included more vegetables than I typically eat in a day), I gave it a try.

I was completely blown away!

Roger was completely right. The Savory Veggie Stew completely eliminated my cravings for salt and heavy dinners.

It was so satisfying that I started making this recipe every night.

I never got tired of it!

Suddenly, it made staying raw 100% easier and possible.

So what's the recipe? Essentially, it involves blending vegetables with non-sweet fruit, but it's not a green smoothie. In fact, it doesn't really taste like a green smoothie because we include vegetable-like fruit like tomato and even spices.

It's far from being a green smoothie, and much more satisfying at dinnertime.

My basic recipe used four ingredients: spinach, celery, tomato, and mango, with a few additional veggies thrown in.

But then I got to try Roger's version, and I realized I still had a lot to learn from him. His was so much better!

Over the years he's made these stews over 10,000 times, so he's refined the process into an absolute science.

He's created a ton of variations, included "Tex-Mex" and "Thai" ethnic versions.

And by the way, if you think you'll get bored eating yet another blended recipe, keep in mind that it's not just a soup, but a "stew", so you actually have vegetables and foods to crunch.

Oh, and did I mention that it's 100% low-fat, savory and delicious?

When Roger visited me last winter in Costa Rica, I pressured him to release this recipe (or shall I say this "lifestyle") in a video or a book. He said he was working on it.

Well, that was 6 months ago, and now I'm really excited that Roger has finally released this program.

For those of you who still crave savory things and cooked food at dinner time, you'll love it. Check it out here:

http://tinyurl.com/mjq7r4

Even if you're 100% happy with the raw food diet, I'm sure you'll enjoy this dinner a lot more than the one you're currently having.

This week Roger is pre-releasing this program. That means that instead of paying $67, you'll pay much less.

But, because this is a pre-release, the price will keep increasing this week. So the more you wait, the more you pay. Or the sooner you get it, the less you'll pay.

For instance the lowest price of all will only be available to the first 20 people to download the program.

Either way, he's adding a bunch of bonuses, including other killer dinner recipes, and more.

http://tinyurl.com/mjq7r4

I rarely recommend other people's products (mostly because I don't believe in what they sell), but this one is different.

I am endorsing it 100% because I'm a believer in the Savory Veggie Stews. I got rid of my cooked food and salt cravings with them… and so can you. Check it out and make sure you grab your copy right now to get the lowest price possible. The price will be increasing not just daily but at any time during the day:

http://tinyurl.com/mjq7r4

Yours for health and success,

Frederic

PS: Again, this is a completely different recipe system than the "green smoothies". Green smoothies are great during the day, but who wants to have a green smoothie for dinner? The Savory Veggie Stews handles the desire to eat something savory and satisfying, while at the same time be low in fat.

PPS: Remember during the pre-release the price is lowered, but each day you wait it will increase. Get it now:

http://tinyurl.com/mjq7r4

PPPS: I promise you that after you've had your first Savory Veggie Stew you'll laugh at all of these high-fat, high-salt recipes, because you'll get more satisfaction AND you'll feel great after eating it. This could be a complete revolution in the raw movement:

Increase Your Energy Naturally

I know that for many of you, you are in the middle of winter, the weather is bad outside and you are letting some of your good health habits slip.  That's why I want to use this blog post to encourage you to get back on the right track and get your lagging energy back.

Eat a Good Breakfast: It's important for the rest of your day to eat well in the morning.  Now, I know some of you are saying *but I'm just not that hungry first thing in the morning*.  Well, you still need to get something into your system, so that your body will have the fuel it needs to get a good start to the day and not overeat or *crash* later in the day.  Just having a smoothie will get you off to the right start.  I share some great smoothie recipes monthly in the daily menu planner that's free with your membership to the Raw Vegan Monthly Mentor Club.  Check it out at: http://www.fredericpatenaude.com/mentorclub.html

Eliminate Oils in Your Diet:  Eliminating oil from your diet will seriously improve your levels of energy.  Oils are pure fat and are not whole food.  I'm not saying don't have some fat in your diet – you need it, but you can get what you need by eating only *whole foods* (such as avocados and nuts) and avoid all concentrated fats.  A little bit of olive oil is not going to hurt you, but you should just stop buying oils. For a good salad dressing, try blending a little avocado with a tomato and some balsamic vinegar. Most people really enjoy that one.

By the way, each month I publish a completely original and detailed menu planner that gives you new delicious raw food recipes for each week of the month, along with shopping lists and a handy weekly planner.  If it sounds like something you could use to take out the guesswork of figuring out what to eat (all my recipes are based on seasonable ingredients), sign up for my Raw Health Inner Circle. You'll get your menu planner each month along with lots of exclusive benefits. Go to: http://www.fredericpatenaude.com/mentorclub.html

Take Vitamin B-12:  too many vegans and raw-foodists have run into vitamin B-12 deficiencies, which can very badly affect your energy levels.  It could be because we're meant to eat small quantities of animal foods. It could be because we're not getting the right bacteria in our colon. It could be for a number of reasons, I don't really know to be honest.  So, to be safe, all vegan doctors recommend to take a supplement.  I do, it's the only supplement I recommend.

Drink Enough Water:  I would say that most people are living in a state of more or less constant dehydration and are not aware of it.   In the winter, you are probably drinking water even less than usual.  If you're consuming lots of raw fruits and vegetables, you're already getting more water than most people, but sometimes, it's still not enough.

What I do every single morning is drink about half a liter to a liter of water (500-1000 ml.) with some lime juice.   It's hydrating and cleansing.

Exercise Every Day:  humans are meant to live an active life. Being sedentary was not the norm for human beings, even in the Western world, until just a few decades ago.  My commitment now is to exercise everyday, and my energy level is always better after I do.  Even though I might not have felt like doing it when I started, I never thought to myself, "I shouldn't have gone for that bike ride" or "That was such a bad idea to take that yoga class!"

On the contrary, I felt much better afterwards, and my energy level definitely comes bouncing back.  It is a basic human need to exercise everyday.   When you do this, you'll be even hungrier for natural food!

How to Get Rid of a Cold Naturally

Unfortunately, for many of you, it's that time of year again, when you're *fighting off* a bad cold. Not that you can't have a cold at any time of the year since having a cold is more of a sign of your own body's situation than it is of the season of the year or temperature outside.

As many of you know and have already read, I've written about this topic before. I have advised you on how to get rid of your cold naturally, by sleeping it off and eating properly. The problem is *you don't listen*, so I need to remind you! Your stubbornness won't let you stop your busy life, even for just a few days. You insist on keeping up the pace, working long and late hours, not eating properly, and not giving your body a chance to heal. In these tough economic times, I know you're even more scared to ease up and *take it easy*.

So, even though my original advice is still the best advice I can give you, and the best way to actually recover from a cold, I am going to give you a few more tips to ease your cold symptoms if you already have one or to help you avoid catching a cold in the first place.

If you already have a cold, then start drinking some fresh pineapple juice three or four times a day. Just mix about 4 ounces of juice with 4 ounces of water and drink. Pineapples are less allergic and acidic than citrus fruits but contain more vitamin C, so drinking this juice will be gentler on your stomach and might have a slight beneficial effect on your cold. If nothing else, it will get you in the habit of increasing your water and liquids intake, which is something you should be doing anyway.

Also, you should increase the humidity in the air. Especially in the winter, the air is dry in many parts of the United States and Canada, especially if you don't have a radiator heating system. The normal range of humidity in the air should be around 40 to 50 percent, but if you use a *hygrometer* to measure indoor humidity, you might get a reading of less than 20 percent! It's important to get a large humidifier with a good filtration system so that you don't introduce bacteria into your environment.

Finally, if you have not *caught* a cold so far, that is good, let's keep it that way. Be sure to wash your hands. But, don't get obsessive about washing your hands all the time – you will just dry them out and make yourself even more susceptible! You should pay attention to where you've touched your hands and then wash accordingly because cold viruses may linger on surfaces longer than we thought. So, if you are touching door knobs, light switches, the TV remote, or other surfaces that get a lot of touching from other people, then you should avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth and go wash your hands.

Go Greens

Go Greens
*Daily Health & Success Tips*

My tip for today is:

"Go Greens"

Yes, go greens!

Enjoy the benefits of eating more dark, leafy green vegetables in your diet.

As you know, I'm a big fan of green smoothies.

But that's not the only way to eat greens.

You can:

Juice 'em!
Blend 'em!
Steam 'em!
Chew 'em!

Whatever you do… try to get 1 to 2 pounds of dark leafy green in your diet every day.

Here are some of the benefits you will experience:

- Improved energy
- Stronger bones (because of the mineral profile of greens)
- Reduced risks of deficiencies
- Look younger
- Improved digestion

In fact… this is just the beginning! Some people report a complete health transformation with that change alone!

Here are some of the best greens to consume:

- Kale: full of calcium, easy to use, many varieties
- Celery: full of natural sodium, an important green to use
- Romaine lettuce: full of minerals, easy to digest
- Spinach: great taste, full of minerals and calcium

And that's just the beginning… each green has its own particular nutritional profile and benefits. So try new ones, like: Italian broccoli, beet greens, mustard greens, collards, and more!

Although I like to blend a lot of greens in the form of green smoothies, I also enjoy some vegetable juice. Here's a good mix:

1-2 carrots
half small beet
3-4 celery ribs
several leaves of kale
Spinach
Fresh lemon juice

Juice all ingredients except the lemon… add the former at the end and enjoy!

Yoga Wimps

Yoga Wimps
*Daily Health & Success Tips*

Okay, I'm getting a little belligerent, but here's my
opinion of yoga: yoga is a great physical and spiritual
practice, but not a complete exercise it itself!

Don't turn into a yoga "wimp".

My tip for today is:

"Whether you're a man or a woman, whether you're young or
old, lift weights for building strength."

If you don't already lift weights, you should start.

The benefits are numerous:

- Weight lifting will energize you, add functional strength
that you can use
- It will improve your posture and reduce your risks of
osteoporosis
- It will improve your balance and coordination
- It will improve your immune system and make you less prone
to low-back injuries
- It will improve your digestion, your resting heart rate,
your muscular endurance
- It will help you look younger, and help you burn more
calories when you're at rest (more muscles burs more
calories!)
- It will improve your confidence and may your daily
activities easier

And that's not to speak of the cosmetic aspects!

Don't start thinking that you will look like the pictures of
"Hulk" in the magazines… that's very unlikely unless you
train specifically for that!

Now… when I say weight lifting, I actually mean lifting
actual weights, not just your body.

Although bodyweight exercises are great, and I really
recommend them, I think everybody needs to actually pump
some iron if they want to increase their strength.

Bodyweight exercises mostly build your muscular endurance.

Weight lifting builds your strength.

In theory, you could design some body weight exercises that
can also build your strength… but those are too
challenging for the average person.

Can you reasonably expect to do a "handstand pushup" (which
means you'll have to stand on hands, against a wall, and
push up)?

That's the way to build strength on your shoulders using
body weight exercises only.

But with weight training, you only have to lift a weight
above your shoulders to achieve the same benefits. So this
is much more accessible to most people.

Don't think you need any special equipment to start weight
lifting, or any expensive gym membership!

All you need are a set of dumbells. Overtime, you can
purchase heavier ones or buy a set of adjustable dumbells
(If you can save for it… I recommend the best in the
world… the Powerblock, at http://www.powerblock.com)

Then you also need an adjustable bench.

And that's it! That's all you need to get started.

Of course, you also need to know what exercises to do.

For that, you can learn the routines from a friend. You can
buy a book on the subject (a good eBook I recommend can be
found at: http://fredraw.westy04.hop.clickbank.net/)

All you have to do is to train for about 30 minutes three
times a week, and you will build more strength!

Remember, this is important especially as you get older, and
especially if you're a woman (although men need it too!),
because typically women and old people tend to avoid
strength-building activities.

So start getting stronger now!

Energy Without Limits

Energy Without Limits
*Daily Health & Success Tips*

My tip for you is one that I've recently implemented with much more diligence in my life, and seen a huge difference in the way I feel:

"Exercise Before Every Meal"

It's amazing once you realize how much exercise is related to nutrition and digestion! In other words, exercise improves every aspect of your assimilation, including:

- The ability to process sugar efficiently (called "insulin
sensitivity")
- More efficient digestion and uptake of nutrients
- More natural hunger, more desire to eat natural foods.

The natural pattern is simple… you have to create "demand".

You have to empty your fuel tank before you fill it again.

You have to lower a bit your blood sugar before rising it again… other wise you're just filling up an already full tank!

The way to do that is to exercise before every meal. More on Energy Without Limits
