My friends, the biggest problem with the raw food diet is that:
IT’S BORING!
Most raw-food enthusiasts I know eat the same foods over and over again. Bananas for lunch. Avocado, tomatoes, and romaine lettuce for dinner.

An Interesting Study
A group of researchers in France did a lot of studies on instinct and the raw food diet. The results have been published in an interesting book in French called “Manger Cru”, by Guy-Claude Burger.
One interesting study I remember from the book is the baby and tropical fruits.
Babies were being given the choice between:
- An apple
- A banana
- A papaya
- A pear
In every single case, the babies chose the tropical fruits, such as bananas and papayas! They were not too interested in the local fruits such as apples and pears.
Ask anyone who has tried many different fruits… they will always name tropical fruits as their favorites, whether it’s mango, pineapple or the exotic durian.
Tropical Fruits Versus Northern Fruits
Tropical fruits are TASTIER
Tropical fruits are sweeter, therefore more fulfilling and more nutritionally packed. It would be near to impossible to live on just pears or apples, but very easy to live on bananas or mangoes.
Tropical fruits are softer, and easier to digest. Compare the hard pulp of apples, to the soft and sweet meat of mangoes. The latter are much easier to digest
Certain tropical fruits such as mangosteen or star apple contain certain anti-oxidants and compounds that are NOT found in other fruits.
Human beings have evolved over eons eating tropical fruits. The need for tropical fruits is BUILT IN OUR DNA!
The real reason why people get so BORED and TIRED on the raw food diet is they are not eating a good variety of delicious, ripe tropical fruits.
